Sunny is a Taxation expert, specialising in the field of Indirect Taxes. He has got over ten years of experience in Indirect Taxes. Since 2017, he is based in Middle East (UAE) and is involved in VAT / Excise implementation projects across GCC including providing post implementation support.

Sunny has got experience working in diverse sectors such as Retail, Hospitality, Shipping & Logistics, Insurance, Media & Entertainment, and Real-estate. He has advised on company specific issues arising during VAT / Excise implementation such as transition management, changes in the contracts, pricing impact, transaction structuring, applying for registrations, etc.

His major skills include leadership and project management to handle large implementation projects for VAT / Excise. He has worked on complex tax opinions and structuring projects including supply-chain optimisation, date of supply for large construction contracts, multiple scenarios for goods supplied from Designated Zones, etc

Sunny is closely involved in filing tax clarifications and reconsiderations including filing objection with Tax Dispute Resolution Committee (TDRC). Through detailed technical submissions, he is successful in getting positive responses from the FTA.

He has got hands-on experience in undertaking VAT and Excise tax compliances and contributes regularly to the print media.
