Biography

Rakesh is a Director with KPMG’s tax practice in Oman. He has 17 years of tax experience working with Big4 accounting firms in India and the Middle East. He currently co-leads a team of more than 20+ tax professionals, rendering tax services to local and international clientele.

Rakesh has advised extensively on local and international tax matters to several Middle East, US, European and leading Indian multinational companies. He serves clients in multiple sectors, including oil and gas, financial services, healthcare, media, transportation, logistics, manufacturing and services. Rakesh has successfully represented clients before tax authorities, resolving high stake tax disputes resolution matters and addressing critical industry matters from tax standpoint. In the course of a specific project, he also served as a special tax representative before the London Court of Arbitration.

His experience also include global mobility, transfer pricing and indirect tax matters. Apart from core tax work, he has also led and implemented unique projects around tax technology, transformation and tax risk process review engagements. Rakesh is a regular speaker at external public events, seminars and has contributed several thought leadership articles in public forums.
