Raj advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and franchises and has regional experience, having previously worked in the UAE. Raj is also a key member of the Sports Law practice and advises on various legal issues relating to sports.
Recent representations include acting for clients in the financial services, telecommunications, sports, mining and metallurgy, real estate development and software industries.
Raj has advised extensively on matters relating to the Central Bank of Bahrain including its Rulebook and laws.
Raj has particular skill in advising on infrastructure projects and large scale developments across a wide range of sectors, acting for a broad range of clients including owners, buyers, developers, project companies, financiers and international law firms.
Raj joined the firm in 2013 having previously worked in the region for over six years, for a leading Bahraini firm.
Raj trained in London and qualified as a solicitor in 2002, beginning his career as a litigator. Subsequently and prior to moving to the region, Raj worked as an in-house lawyer for a UK financial services regulator.
