Paul is a senior associate and is a member of the Construction and Infrastructure team in the Doha office. He has over sixteen years' experience and has been working in the Middle East since 2012. His primary focus is on non-contentious construction and engineering matters, which includes advising clients on procurement and contract strategies and drafting and negotiating contractual documentation. He also assists and supports clients during the execution phase of a project and during proceedings (including international arbitration).
Paul has substantial experience of advising government departments, investors, sponsors, developers, lender clients, contractors and design and build / EPC contractors on major construction, infrastructure and energy projects in the Middle East. He has drafted project documentation and advised on several hotel and leisure projects in Middle East and globally.
Paul has extensive knowledge and in-depth experience of standard form contracts for the procurement of construction and engineering projects using the FIDIC suite of contracts, NEC, ICC, ICE, MF/1 and LOGIC. He has considerable experience of advising clients on PPP arrangements, EPC arrangements, framework agreements and target cost arrangements for the successful delivery of major construction, infrastructure and energy projects.
