Özgür is a determined and passionate legal practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience in energy, corporate, intellectual property, competition, administrative and human rights law.

She is a multilingual, openminded professional with a background in international business combined with advanced business knowledge that gives her a significant competitive edge. Özgür gained an LL.M in European Union Law as a European Commission Jean Monnet Scholar.

Starting in 2000, she served as a consultant for several projects on Turkey’s newly privatized energy market. In 2001, when the initial Electricity Market Law came into force, she took part in a multinational consortium advising the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on the establishment of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company’s legal infrastructure and the authorship of its internal legislation. 

Before joining Cetinkaya as a founding partner, Özgür represented numerous leading energy and pharmaceutical companies, such as Turcas Petrol, as Head of Legal. She has also worked in private practice as a senior lawyer with leading Turkish law firms.
