Mr Bandara practices in the firm's dispute resolution group. He advises and represents clients in litigation and arbitration disputes. His experience includes advising on and assisting with disputes relating to commercial law, banking, construction, shipping and maritime law and labour law. Mr Bandara was a member of the legal team that represented one of the international banks at the ICSID Arbitration in an Oil Hedging dispute.
Prior to joining Afridi & Angell in 2016, Mr Bandara was in the private bar of Sri Lanka and was employed as a Counsel at one of the leading law firms in Sri Lanka, whilst simultaneously practicing in the Law Chambers of Mr Prasanna Jayawardena, President's Counsel. He was also a visiting lecturer in Business Law at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and an examiner at the Sri Lanka Law College.
