Maria is an international construction and commercial arbitration lawyer with Eversheds Sutherland Dispute Resolution team, based in Dubai and is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
Maria is a civil law qualified lawyer and is a Licensed Attorney of the Jordanian Bar, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, and a Member of the British MENSA Society. Maria has acquired her LLM with a specialisation in Alternative Dispute Resolution, with a focus on international construction contracts and international commercial arbitration. Her LLM thesis on the topic suggested and discussed the potential introduction of a standardised construction contract specifically tailored to the GCC countries, by way of examining and evaluating their use in the region to date pursuant to their respective legal frameworks.
Maria specialises in construction and infrastructure law with a focus on dispute resolution. Maria's work experience includes both contentious and non-contentious work as well as advising on Jordanian Law, Omani Law, UAE Law, and Iraqi Law as well as international commercial and construction arbitration related matters.
