Leanie focuses her practice on Construction & Engineering and Dispute Resolution. She acts for a wide variety of clients in international and domestic arbitrations involving primarily construction related disputes. Leanie has experience in proceedings under the ICC, QICCA and HKIAC Rules.
Before moving abroad, Leanie has served as legal counsel and analyst for the South African Competition Commission (CCSA), where she was responsible for investigating and prosecuting anti-competitive business practices. Her high-profile matters were regularly heard by the Competition Tribunal of South Africa. Prior to joining K&L Gates, Leanie worked as a visiting lecturer at Qatar University, College of Law. Her duties included coaching the university moot court team that competed in the 22nd Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna in 2015.
