Dr. Bashayer is an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University, teaching Civil and Contract Law at Kuwait University, with additional specialisation in Kuwaiti investment consultation and restructuring. She is experienced in providing legal counsel in all aspects of Civil Law. Dr. Bashayer's research area is focused on the development of the Kuwaiti legal system and the impact of Islamic Law and French Civil Law. Additionally, Dr. Bashayer is an experienced and award-winning public speaker, with a strong presence at both academic conferences and on national television, as well as a strong interest in politics, constitutional and humanitarian issues and law reforms. Her recent TEDx talk focused on the power of many voices working together for positive changes. She recently won International Muslim of the Year at the British Muslim Awards, for her efforts to empower young people, and young women in particular and Most Influential Woman in International Speaking Events at the 2020 Global Excellence Awards.
