Aysha, is a licensed attorney in the Kingdom of Bahrain and an experienced international arbitration practitioner and litigation lawyer. She specialises in international and domestic arbitration and has worked on a wide range of disputes including Islamic banking, finance, commercial, governance, construction and real estate disputes. Aysha has extensive knowledge in local laws in the MENA Region.
Aysha has been with the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) since its inception in 2009 until 2015, where she served as Tribunal Secretary to a number of Appeal Court judges in the BCDR litigation procedures and as Tribunal Secretary to arbitrators in arbitration proceedings.
She was the Acting Senior Case Manager and oversaw more than 150 cases as a part of the case management team at BCDR-AAA. The minimum claim amount of any case filed under BCDR-AAA section one jurisdiction is USD 1.3 Million. Aysha was also a Case Manager at the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) the international arm of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
Before joining the BCDR-AAA, Aysha advised private clients on a number of issues relating to sharia, labour, commercial, insurance, banking and real estate disputes.
In addition, she has also given lectures to the University of Miami Laws With-Out Walls Programs, the Royal University of Women in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as BCDR-AAA International Arbitration Program.
