Aline Tanielian Fadel
Partner and Head of Arbitration Practice
Dr. Aline Tanielian Fadel is Partner and Head of Arbitration Practice at Eptalex- Aziz Torbey Law Firm in Beirut. She is also an arbitrator and a university lecturer. She is a member of the Beirut Bar Association, ICC Arab Arbitration Group, and ArbitralWomen, and listed as arbitrator on the panels of the BCCI, the VIAC (Vienna) and the ADGM (Abu Dhabi).
Dr. Tanielian is a contributor to literary outlets including Le Commerce du Levant, Legal Agenda and specialized local and international academic journals, and has been a lecturer of Commercial Law at Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut (USJ) since 2012, her alma mater. She holds an LL.M in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the Lebanese University- Francophone branch (in collaboration with University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas), an LL.M in Banking and Finance Law from USJ, and an LL.D from the University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas. Between 2007 and 2010, she was a Judge in the First Instance Armenian Evangelical Tribunal of Lebanon.
In addition to Arbitration, her expertise ranges between Banking & Finance Law, Corporate, Business and Commercial Law, and Aviation Law. In this last-mentioned area of expertise, she has acted as counsel for Ethiopian Airlines and its insurers for several years and was involved in many cases ranging from agency agreements to negotiating settlement agreements and defending the aviation company and its insurers in various litigation cases related to an airplane crash.
She is fluent in Arabic, French, English and Armenian, with a limited-working proficiency in Spanish.
