In support of the State of Qatar’s efforts to address current and emerging threats and risks, the State of Qatar’s National Cyber Security Strategy set the objective to establish a legal and regulatory framework to enable a safe and vibrant cyberspace.

In this regards, two national frameworks were developed: The National Information Security Compliance Framework (NISCF) and the National Information Assurance Framework (NIAF).

The National Information Security Compliance Framework (NISCF) was created to validate and assure security that is driven and guided by the National Information Assurance Framework (NIAF).

Based on Emiri Decree No 1 of year 2021, National Cyber Security Agency - Governance and Cyber Assurance Affairs is thethe entity responsible for issuing certificates for Technology and Information Security service providers and certificates of compliance with National Information Security standards and policies.

In addition to its mandates, Governance and Cyber Assurance Affairs is also considered the competent authority to implement the Personal Data Privacy Protection Law including the development of policies, controls and follow-up in the State of Qatar.
