Greetings from the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH),

In alignment with the MoPH's vision to raise the Hijama registration/licensing standards in the State of Qatar, and based on the recommendation of the Specialized Committee for Complementary Medicine in its 7th meeting dated 13/12/2020, MoPH has decided to limit the licensing of Hija ma practitioners to applicants with a health/medical background starting from 1st June 2021.

In light of this circular, please consider the following:

  • This circular is not applicable for the following categories:

    • Qataris,

    • Offspring of Qatari women,

    • Some residents' categories as per the conditions approved by the relevant committee in the MoPH.

The aforementioned three categories can apply for registration/licensing whether they have a health/medical background or not, and their eligibility will be determined by the Specialized Committee for Complementary Medicine.
