The Department of Healthcare Professions pursuit (DHP) to cope with the best regional and international practices in the field of registration/ licensing, and in accordance with benchmark study and collaboration with the expert panel and the task force Member for Qatar NHS" Healthy Women Leading to Healthy Pregnancy", for the sake of the development of the regulatory framework regarding the nursing and Midwifery profession and based on the Permanent Licensing Committee decision in its meeting number 15 /2022 dated 31/10/2022, the OH P has decided to:

• Update the registration/ licensing requirements of the scope of practice for 'Registered Midwife'.

• Add a new scope of practice for 'Clinical Midwife Specialist'/advanced practice midwifery to the list of approved scopes for the Nursing and Midwifery profession
