Subject | Update on Break in Practice Policy for Physicians and Dentists |
“The Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) presents to you its compliments”.
As part of DHP's ongoing pursuit to adopt restricted criteria for the Registration / Licensing of physicians/ dentists in the State of Qatar, as they have the greatest impact on patients' safety, and in order to ensure the competency and the quality of healthcare services is at the highest level. The DHP has decided to update the break in practice policy for physicians/dentists (Circular No. 13/2017) as the following:
Physicians/dentists who have not been clinically practising for a period of one year or more are considered to be in break in practice, and hence they are not eligible for licensing / work in the state of Qatar.
