Oman Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Decision No. 153/2008
On Establishing & Operating Private Network Not Connected to the Public Network for the Personal Utilisation
Pursuant to the Telecommunications Regulatory Act issued by the Oman Sultani Decree No. 30/2002 and;
The Executive Regulation of the Act issued by the Oman Ministerial Decision No. 10/2007 and;
The approval of the Authority dated 18.12.2007 and;
Based on the exigencies of the public interest;
It is decided:
Article 1
Establishing & operating Private Network Not Connected to the Public Network for the personal utilization only, with the exception of networks that are established and operated by utilizing the VSAT stations, should be after obtaining the respective Authorization from the TRA according to Telecommunication Regulatory Act and paying the issuing fees that will be decided by TRA. The Authorization is valid for 3 years and is renewable.
Article 2
The authorized entity to establish or operate a Private Network shall be prohibited from the following practices:
Connecting his private network to the Public Network or to any other Telecommunications Network.
Providing telecommunication services to others either with or without remuneration.
