Subject: Direct Importation of Medicines from the Country of Origin

Based on Oman Sultani Decree No. 35/2015 regulating the practice of pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Establishments, Chapter Five of Oman Ministerial Decision No. 113/2020 regarding the import and export requirements for medicines, we would like to inform you that all Medical Stores must comply with the following:

1. Import medicines directly from the country of origin.

2. Attach the bill of lading with the clearance request.

3. Drug stores are responsible for coordinating with the pharmaceutical companies they represent to determine the general medicine needs and ensure continuous availability to prevent shortages in the market.

This requirement will take effect from July 1, 2025, and all warehouses must comply to avoid any delays in the release process.
