Household & Community Contact Tracing & De-isolation Guideline for COVID-19
Introduction
Contact tracing is the process of identifying, listing, assessing, and managing people who have been exposed to a laboratory confirmed case in order to prevent further transmission. When systematically applied, contact tracing will function as an essential public health tool for controlling infectious disease outbreaks.
Traditional contact tracing using public health staff is resource intensive. Hence scaling up contact tracing by using new methods to increase efficiency was crucial especially in view of increasing number of cases as well as contacts. Thus, ministry of health launch an epidemiological system based on Artificial Intelligence technology through Tarassud plus application supported by the medical scout program and HMushrif application (HMushrif).
In addition, with evolving situation of the COVID-19 pandemic more evidence supported the modification of duration of isolation of cases of COVID-19 in order to limit unnecessary prolonged isolation and unnecessary use of laboratory testing resources.
