Child maltreatment can result in death, serious injury, and long-term consequences affecting the child life till adulthood. It also affects the child family, and society in general. Recognition and reporting of child abuse is important to promote child safety, health, and welfare through the delivery of preventive, supportive, protective, and therapeutic interventions.
