This guidance focuses on Inspection and Testing of Rescue and Fire Fighting Equipment prior to bring into operation or when there have been substantial changes to existing installation as per CAR-139 (Part l-Chapter-9)., maintenance, testing and inspection of (RFF) equipment's, are prerequisites for the safety, regularity, and efficiency of civil aviation. To this end, this material provides guidance on how to inspect and test this equipment.

The guidance material is intended to provide recommendations and guidance to illustrate a means but not necessarily the only means of complying with the Regulations, or to explain certain regulatory requirements by providing interpretative and explanatory material. This guidance material shall always be read in conjunction with the referenced regulations.
