Subject: Annual Closing

1. In response to representations from many banks and in order to facilitate smooth flow of annual closing works and procedures, it has been decided that all licensed banks shall remain closed to the public on 1st January of every year.

2. The Clearing will remain suspended and the Central Bank of Oman shall also not transact any business on that day; usual procedures, as applicable to public holidays like carry-over of outstanding clearing transactions, will be set in place.

3. Licensed banks will display a suitable notice prominently for the timely information of the public.
