The Main Feature of this REgulation, is the amendment of the governing rations applicable to the definition of affiliated bodies, related business interests and the inclusion of holding companies and major share holders in the categories subjuected to abnks' lending limits.
All licensed banks operating in the Sultanate of Oman are required to adhere to the provisions of the said Regulation.

Pursuant to Article 2-1.09(n) of Oman Law No. 7/1974, the Banking Law of 1974, and Article 4-4.05 (b)(c) of Oman Law No. 7/1974 as amended, and the Oman Decision No. MM/1297/107/10/99/17 taken at its meeting held on 12.10.1999, the following has been decided.
