Subject: Submission of Inspection/Audit Reports

The attention of all commercial banks operating in the Sultanate of Oman is invited to the Central Bank letter No, BED/GEN/93/850 dated the 31 st July 1993 in terms of which banks were advised to continue to forward to us reports mentioned under items 2 to 5 in our letter BED/GEN/92/779 dated the 30th August 1992. For the sake of easy reference we reproduce below the items 2 to 5 referred to above:

1. Examination Reports of the External Auditors.

2. Inspection Reports of Regional Offices/Head Offices (This refers to branches of foreign banks).

3. Evaluation Reports of outside organisations such as the Capital Intelligence (if any).

4. Reports of any other adhoc inspections/audits.

Banks are also advised to ensure that the reports in languages other than Arabic or English should be arranged to be translated in either of the above two languages and then forwarded to us together with a copy of the original report.

We expect banks to exercise appropriate internal control on inwarding and issuance of all inspection/examination/audit/investigation reports.
