Subject: Oman Sultani Decree No. 9/1995 Issuing the Law Regulating the Bank Deposits Insurance Scheme - Oman Regulation No. BM/REG/39/5/1995

Further to Oman Central Bank Circular No. BM756/1995 of April 22, 1995, please find attached herewith Oman Regulation No. BM/REG/39/5/1995 issued pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of Oman Sultani Decree No. 9/1995 the Law Regulating Bank Deposits Insurance Scheme.

Licensed Banks are required to implement and adhere to the provisions of this Regulation which has been published in the Official Gazette No. 552 issued on 3.6.1995.

Attention of licensed banks is drawn in particular to Article 5(a) of Oman Sultani Decree No. 9/1995 the Regulation pertaining to Membership Deposits. Please note that each Member Bank’s share of Membership Deposit is being advised to the respective Member Bank separately. The first instalment of Membership Deposit is required to be paid by July 3, 1995, and the second instalment shall be paid one year after the due date for the payment of the first instalment i.e. on or before July 3, 1996.
