Subject: Guidance Rules for Treasury Bill Issues and Related Transactions

In accordance with the decision of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank dated June 7th 1987, hereby attached is Guidance Oman Central Bank Circular No. BM/GC/029/6/1987 entitled “Guidance Rules for Treasury Bill Issues and Related Transactions”.*

You are requested to take note of its contents in readiness for the launch of Treasury Bills. The Forms accompanying the Circular should be regarded as subject to change over the initial phase.

A Tender Notice will be published in the week beginning June 20th 1987 giving specific details of the first tender for Treasury Bills on Tuesday, June 23rd 1987. The first issues, recorded for the time being as book entries, will be issued and settled on Saturday June 27th 1987.

You are required to signify your agreement to the Guidance Rules by signing and returning the attached acknowledgement letter in order to be able to participate in the Treasury Bill tenders and related transactions.

The Credit Department of the Central Bank is on hand to assist on any points requiring clarifications.
