Oman Central Bank Circular No. BM267/1979
Attached herewith is Oman Regulation No. BM/REG/018/12/79-2-2.03 entitled “Regulation on purchase, Discounts and Rediscount of Commercial Paper”.
This Regulation has been approved by the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman and will soon be published in the Official Gazette. The Regulation shall become effective in accordance with the terms of the Banking Law, i.e. one month after its publication in the Official Gazette.
The Regulation will be among the subjects to be discussed at the Bankers Meeting to be held on January 2nd, 1980.
Oman Regulation No. BM/REG/018/12/79-2-2.03 - The Purchase, Discounts and Rediscount of Commercial Paper
With reference to the Oman Law No. 7/1974, Banking Law especially Articles 2-1.09 and 2-2.03*[1].
The Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman has decided to issue the following Regulation:
Article 1(1)
This Regulation sets out the general terms and conditions whereby Central Bank of Oman shall purchase, discount or rediscount commercial paper to banks licensed to conduct banking business within the Sultanate.
