Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority Regulations 2012
Compliance Procedures
Article - Overview and General Information
In accordance with Abu Dhabi Law No. 12/2007 (“Law 12”) establishing the Media Zone - Abu Dhabi (“the Zone”), the Media Zone Authority (“the Authority”) is charged with issuing the necessary regulations, codes and guidelines (“the Framework”) to organize, control and monitor the company incorporation, licensing procedures and content regulation of the establishments registered and licensed in the Zone.
The Framework has been designed to support businesses in the Zone and to foster an environment which facilitates positive developments in the media and protection for the public. As a consequence, all companies registered in the Zone have important regulatory obligations placed on them to encourage good conduct and develop efficient, successful and reputable businesses.
The Authority will use these Compliance Procedures (“the Procedures”) to investigate breaches or suspected breaches of the requirements contained within the Framework. All investigations will be conducted transparently and will be appropriately targeted. Any sanctions that are imposed will be proportionately applied.
