Starting an Arbitration at the RAK Commercial Reconciliation & Arbitration Centre
Overview
The Ras Al-Khaimah Commercial Reconciliation & Arbitration Centre (Centre) was established in 2008 pursuant to Ras al Khaimah Emiri Decree No. 17/2008 on the Establishment of the Ras al Khaimah Commercial Arbitration Centre.
The rules for reconciliation and arbitration are set out in the Articles of Association of Ras Al Khaimah Centre of Reconciliation and Arbitration (Rules).
The Centre was set up for resolving commercial disputes and providing parties with alternative methods of dispute resolution through reconciliation and arbitration.
The Centre provides administrative and organisational support to parties in arbitration and reconciliation. It maintains a list of conciliators, arbitrators, experts and translators for parties to choose from and offers premises for holding reconciliation and arbitration sessions.
The Centre is an autonomous body located within the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The specific arbitration procedures are set out in Chapter 6 of the Rules while general provisions on arbitration can be found in other chapters of the Rules.
