All hydrocarbons located within Bahrain's territories are state property. The Bahrain Petroleum Company, a state-owned company, receives crude oil and non-associated gas produced by companies.

There are no specific rules governing the construction and operation of pipelines. Authorisation from the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) must be obtained to conduct this activity.

There are restricted areas in Bahrain where extraction is not allowed; the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) decides which areas are restricted.

The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) regulate prices for oil and gas sales and distribution.
