Overview

  • The DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre was dissolved in September 2021 as per Dubai Decree No. 34/2021. Its operations and assets have been emerged into a Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). Ownership of real estate, assets, funds, staff, financial allocations and membership base will also be transferred to the new Centre.

Background to the DIFC-LCIA Rules 2021

The DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre was originally established in 2008 as a quasi joint venture between the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFCA) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). Following the creation of the DIFC Arbitration Institute by Dubai Statute, the DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre was relaunched in November 2015.
