Practical Guidance
Types of employee leave entitlements
Annual leave
Pursuant to article 58 of Bahrain Law No. 36/201, an employee is entitled to two and a half days of leave per month of work, up to a total amount of annual leave not less than 30 days on full pay. However, if the employee's period of service is less than one year, they will be entitled to annual leave in proportion to the period of their service. Bahrain Law No. 36/2012 prohibits employees from waiving their right to annual leave unless this refusal to claim annual leave is evidenced in writing.
