Overview
A right-holder in copyrighted work is entitled to safeguard their rights against any violation committed by a third party.
Copyright infringement occurs when a third party, without authorization, carries out actions that should have been exclusively exercised by the copyright owner and are not classified as fair-use.

Bahrain Law No. 22/2006 provides substantive and interim measures to be enforced by the right holder against a third party violation of their rights.
This Practice Note provides an overview of copyright litigation, and covers enforcement of these rights, in addition to civil and criminal protection of copyrighted works.
Definitions
Right holder: The person entitled to enforce the rights associated with the protected work (i.e., the author or the copyright owner accordingly).
Author: A natural person who has created the work.
Competent authority: Information Affairs Authority.
Protected work: Any original literary or artistic work created by an author and protected by copyright law.
Products: Protected works subject to alleged infringement as referred to by the legislator in article 62-64 of Bahrain Law No. 22/2006.
