Practical Guidance
The Labour Law does not apply to civil servants, nor to those who are subject to civil or military service. In addition to this, except for specific provisions described below, the Labour Law does not apply to domestic servants and other persons regarded as such, including agricultural workers, home security guards, nannies, house maids and private cooks performing their work for their employer or the employer's family members.
It should be noted that the Labour Law does not make a distinction between employees in blue collar jobs, such as factory workers or construction workers, and employees in “white collar” positions. As such, the Labour Law, at least on paper, applies to blue collar workers in the same way as any other employee.
