Acceleration Clause

1 Acceleration

1.1 If at any time the Employer (acting reasonably) wishes the Contractor to complete the [design and] construction of the Works or any part thereof on or before a date earlier than the Completion Date or (as the case may be) any later date which would otherwise be fixed as the Completion Date under clause [insert extensions of time clause] (an ‘Acceleration'), the Employer shall serve a notice (‘Acceleration Notice') on the Contractor, setting out details of the extent of the acceleration required and its proposed revised Completion Date as a result of such Acceleration.

1.2 Following receipt of an Acceleration Notice, the Contractor shall within [14] days of receipt, deliver to the Employer a written estimate which shall include:

  • 1.2.1 The Contractor's estimate of the adjustment required to the Contract Sum that will result from such Acceleration.

  • 1.2.2 Details of revisions to the programme that, in the Contractor's opinion, will be required as a result of such Acceleration.

  • 1.2.3 Details of any expenditure that in the Contractor's opinion is required or no longer required as a result of such Acceleration.
