There are several options available to a franchisor wishing to set up a presence in the UAE. The selected jurisdiction, type and form of the company registered is largely determined by the business activities to be performed, location of such activities and the target market.
One option is to set up a business entity 'onshore' (ie, outside any of the free zones, which allows the franchisor to operate in all territory of the Emirates in which it is registered or outside the UAE, without any restriction).
