The Jordanian Civil Code, in article 202, stipulates that a contract must be performed in accordance with the principle of good faith.
As for good faith during the negotiation period, the contracting parties must negotiate in good faith in accordance with the general provisions governing contracts.

In Jordanian law, oral contracts are binding as long as they fulfil the essential elements of contract formation, namely mutual consent, a lawful object and a lawful cause.
