According to article 3 of the Egyptian Sports Law (Egypt Law No. 71/2017) (the Sports Law), each sports body, under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has the authority to draft and enact its own statutes, by which it is governed and regulated, provided that they are approved by: its general assembly (whose members must not have a criminal record); the international sports body to which it is affiliated; and the Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC).
