Has the country signed up to any international treaties?>>🔗
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a signatory to several multilateral and bilateral treaties on judicial co-operation, such as:
the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards;
the GCC Convention for the Execution of Judgments, Delegations and the Judicial Notifications 1996 (the GCC Convention); and
the Riyadh Arab Agreement on Judicial Cooperation between States of the Arab League 1983 (the Riyadh Convention).
In addition, the UAE is a party to at least 15 bilateral treaties on judicial co-operation with other countries, such as Jordan, Sudan, India, Egypt, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Morocco.
