No. There is no specific legal framework in Oman governing franchises. In Oman, franchises are governed by general laws, including:

• Oman Sultani Decree No. 26/1977 On the Commercial Agencies Law in the Sultanate of Oman (Oman Sultani Decree No. 34/2014 dated 19/07/2014);

• Oman Law No. 55/1990 Promulgating the Commercial Law; and

• Oman Sultani Decree No. 29/2013 Omani Civil Transactions Law.

Other than the laws mentioned in Question 1 above, the following general laws may apply:

• Oman Sultani Decree No. 18/2019 On the Issuance of the Commercial Companies Law;

• Oman Sultani Decree No. 67/2014 On the Issuance of the Competition and Anti-Trust Law; and

• Oman Sultani Decree No. 65/2008 To Promulgate the Law of Copyright and Related Rights.
