Sharjah Healthcare City is located near Sharjah International Airport, in the Emirate of Sharjah. It was established under Sharjah Emiri Decree No. 26/2012, as a free zone operating under the Sharjah Health Authority and managed by the Free Zone Medical Authority.

The internal regulations of the free zone will be established by the City Administration, an administrative body which works under the Free Zone Medical Authority. As this Free Zone is still being developed, no internal regulations have been formulated yet.

The Sharjah Healthcare City has been given the right to enter into reciprocal agreements with other free zones, which will help enable the medical institutions of the City to conduct their activities.
