Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) was established in 1985 under UAE Federal Decree Law No. 1/1985 on The Establishment of The Free Zone Authority in Jebel Ali Port.

JAFZA's main regulations are:

• JAFZA Rules 7th Edition 2017 (the JAFZA Rules 2017);

• JAFZA Offshore Companies Regulations 2018;

• JAFZA Companies Implementing Regulations 2016 (the Implementing Regulations); and

• General Terms and Conditions regarding Business Centres and Business Incubators.

There do not appear to be any formal reciprocal arrangements between JAFZA and other freezones.
