This case involved an employee who was put on unpaid leave during a period which included the COVID emergency period. Background
The Claimant was Lashanda an individual filing a claim against the Defendant regarding her employment at the Defendant company.
The Defendant was Laune, a company registered in the DIFC.
The underlying dispute arose over the employment of the Claimant by the Defendant pursuant to an Employment Contract dated 15 November 2018. The Claimant commenced work with the Defendant on 7 January 2019.
On 18 July 2021, the Claimant filed a claim in the DIFC Courts’ Small Claims Tribunal seeking various employment claims of 199,382 AED.
A consultation was held before the SCT Judge but the parties were unable to reach a settlement.
