Background

A Plaintiff filed a suit against the Defendant requesting payment of 1,275,449 AED and the cost of a return ticket to his home country, and for an accounting expert to be appointed on the basis the Plaintiff had joined the company (the Defendant) as regional director from 14/7/2011 to 4/2/2013 with an indefinite term contract and a monthly salary of 54,900 AED plus other benefits. The Plaintiff employee worked in that position until the Defendant employer terminated the contract without a valid reason and stopped paying the entitlements due.

Proceedings

Court of first instance – Case 783/2013 (Labour) - Decision dated 19/2/2014:

The Court of First Instance obliged the Defendant to pay the Plaintiff 582,183 AED.
