As in previous years, 2020 has seen a number of developments which are impacting arbitration in the UAE. These range from developments in the prevailing case law precedent via changes in arbitration legislation to the adoption of soft law instruments which have assisted with the conduct of arbitration in the UAE, both onshore and offshore in UAE-based judicial free zones
