Introduction
The key principles for the development of Dubai's Strategic Plan 2021 were to ensure a fair and reliable application of the rule of law, and to create an environment conducive to effective settlements, cost saving, and enforceable decisions for complex civil and commercial disputes that result from doing business in Dubai. As such, the Dispute Resolution Authority “DRA” of the Dubai International Financial Centre “DIFC” was founded in 2014 to offer reliable, accessible, efficient and fair mechanisms to settle business conflicts. This was highly appreciated and well received by DIFC and Dubai legal consumers, and since then the DRA has professionally serviced the business and legal community in the UAE.
