General Regulations of Environment in the GCC States 1997
Much has been achieved by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States during the past years, especially the last three decades of development in all fields. For example, industrial, agricultural and urban developments have resulted in a massive exploitation of natural resources. Conversely, those changes have also caused multiple damages to the ecosystem in the area, which prompted the GCC to develop plans, strategies and legislation to ensure the preservation of the environment.
