On 28 September 2020, the Kingdom of Bahrain (Bahrain) introduced an amendment to Bahrain Decree-Law No. 21/2001 on the Issuance of the Commercial Companies Law. In an effort to simplify the regulation of private companies and aspire to Bahrain’s continuous vision of developing its corporate practice up to international standards, Bahrain Decree-Law No. 28/2020 amends certain provisions of the Companies Law. Bahrain Decree-Law No. 28/2020 introduces a number of key changes and has come into effect on 2 October 2020.This article will provide an update of the legislative and practical developments in Bahrain.
