Ministerial Decision No. 598/2012 On the Implementing Regulation of the Federal Law No. 17/2009 on the Protection of New Plant Varieties
The Minister of Environment and Water,
After perusal of the Federal Law No. 1/1972 concerning the competencies of the Ministries and the powers of the Ministers, and its amending laws;
Federal Law No. 17/2009 on the protection of new plant varieties;
Cabinet Decision No. 21/ 2009 on the organisational structure of the Ministry of Environment and Water, and its amendments;
And based on the public interest requirements,
Decided:
Title 1 - Definitions
Article 1
In the implementation of the provisions of this Regulation, the following expressions shall have the meanings stated beside them unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Ministry: The Ministry of Environment and Water.
Ministry: The Minister of Environment and Water.
Register: Register of new plant varieties and rights of plant breeders.
Right Holder: The plant breeder to whom the registrar grants the right of plants breeder with respect to a specific plant variety.
