Ministerial Decision No. 17/1976 On the Specification, Issuance and Renewal of Visas and Permits of Entry and Procedures of Granting Thereof

The Minister of Interior,

After perusing Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and Powers of Ministers;

Federal Law No. 6/1973 on the Entry and Residence of Foreigners*^[3];

Ministry of Interior Law No. 10/1974;

Decided the following:

Title 1 - Statement of the Types of Visas and Entry Permits

These instructions shall specify the nature, types, format and powers of the visas and entry permits.

The visa and entry permit shall be defined as follows:

a- Visa:

Ministerial Decision No. 360/1997 dated 16/07/1997 on the Implementing Regulation of the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners had implicitly abrogated most of the provisions of this Ministerial Decision, except for what is related to diplomatic visas that were not mentioned at all.

Article 2 of Ministerial Decision No. 187/1992 amending this Ministerial Decision had abrogated this Ministerial Decision No. 173/1981.

The expression “immigration and residence” replaced the expression “entry and residence” by virtue of Article 3 of Federal Law No. 13/1996 dated 18/06/1996, as amended by Federal Law No. 6/1973;Under the same Federal Law No. 13/1996 dated 18/06/1996, Article 4 thereof stipulated that the expression “Directorate of Residency and Foreigners” was replaced by “General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners” wherever mentioned in Federal Law No. 6/1973, and in implementation of the above, the above-mentioned expressions were replaced wherever mentioned in this Ministerial Decision.
