Ministerial Decision No. 162/2014 Banning Fishing and Marketing of Al Badah Fish in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi
The Minister of Environment and Water,
After perusal of Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 23/1999 on the Exploitation, Protection and Development of Live Aquatic Resources in the UAE, and its Implementing Regulation;
Cabinet Decision No. 27/2013 on the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Environment and Water, and
The book submitted to the Ministry from the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi No. TMBS/14/L/96 dated 24/03/2014 on the Issuance of Ministerial Decision Concerning the Ban on fishing and Selling Al Badah in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi;
Has issued the following Decision:
Article 1
The fishing and selling of Al Badah (Long tail Silver Biddy fish), in all the fishing areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi shall be banned as of the 01 April 2014 until 01 June 2014.
Article 2
1- It is strictly prohibited to use local nets like "Ghazal" and "Sakar".
